Light brown with few spots. Spots usually have a yellowish halo, a black annulus and a small white inner spot.

A common variation in the Ringlet is smaller spots, as in this specimen. But larger and elongated spots are also common.

Often confused with : Meadow Brown, but Ringlet have yellow haloes around the spots on the underside of the wing.
