The leaf size varies considerably depending upon distance from tip of stems. Some tiny flowers apparent. (Extraneous leaves belonging to differing plants both top and bottom).

The plant seems to be taking some liberties with the specification of 'round-leaf': they are ovate to elliptical and nearly-round.

They are rounded at the base coming to a slight point at the almost-round end and a slight nick where the stem joins.

All in all, the leaves are more cardioid shape than actually round. Leaf stems have longish hairs.

At the bottom the mostly-yellow flowers still inhabit their calyx. (The reddened-purple empty sepal tubes at the top belong to a different flower).

Two flowers nesting in their wide-open 5 spear-shaped segments of the calyx. Leaves are hairy too.

Leaves are hairy too with differing-length hairs. Some perhaps have glands at their ends(?). Flower with large yellow lumpy lobe with just one of the two beetroot-purple rounded-end upper petals showing.

A flower in full-frontal. The lower lobe has two long side-lobes and a shorter central lobe sandwiched between them, much like flowers of the Toadflax families (Chaenorhinum and Cymbalaria amongst several others). On this lower lobe there are also two domed bulges of a darker yellow to yellow-orange nearer the centre. Above them are two beetroot-purple erect and rounded 'flags' the lower parts of which function more like 'lids'. The mouth of the opening between the lower lobes and the upper flags is completely blocked, but hidden within it are 4 stamens. Also hidden somewhere within it is a single style with a single stigma.

A noteworthy feature of Fluellens is a long curved and narrow spur at the bottom of the flower, visible on this side-view. The calyx lobes are quite wide at their base and deeply cut.

Birds-eye view of flowers in various positions lying flat on the soil. Calyx lobes are spear-shaped (topmost flower).

The spur at the back is curved forwards and narrows almost to a point. The calyx lobes are reminiscent of those of Viola species, a pair being either side of the flower.

The fruit has several beetroot-coloured very-dimpled seeds(?) nested together in a fawn-coloured cup. The 5 hairy calyx lobes surround the cup in a higglety fashion. All petals have withered off.

Many similarities to : Sharp-leaved Fluellen (Kickxia elatine) but that is less robust and is without hairs on both pedicels and corolla (both hairy on Round-leaved Fluellen) and the leaves are hastate [flat] at the base (and not rounded as are those on Round-leaved Fluellen) and the corolla of the flower including the spur is slightly smaller at 7-12mm (8-15mm on Round-leaved Fluellen) with the upper lips being yellow (beetroot-coloured on Round-leaved Fluellen).

Partial resemblance to : Toadflaxes (which are actually spead over several differing genera but all in the same family [Plantaginaceae]) such as Common Toadflax (Linaria vulgaris)
