The flowers are on long round stems, longer than the leaves.
The flower spike is less than 35cm long, these fawn-coloured specimens having been spent. |

Spikelets usually in pairs on a node (but occasionally in 3's - none noticeable here).
The florets are in 3 to 6's and all except for the end one are bisexual. This specimen displaying its anthers mostly in a horizontal position. |

When the spikelets in the inflorescence part the anthers on their long filaments flop over displaying their long, thin, white filaments with a pale-green anther atop. The lemmas (long pointed things) usually have 7 veins. |
