Easily confused with : other section alpine Hawkweeds.

It is widespread in the Scottish Highlands, the most abundant of the Hieracium - section Alpine Hawkweeds. Here it was found at 1110 m height on the Cairngorms.

Of the section alpine Hawkweeds, Alpine Hawkweed itself is the only one (out of the 34 altogether) that is not endemic to the UK - that is - it is found not only in the UK, but elsewhere in the World.
