Carex muricata ssp. pairae

(formerly Carex muricata ssp. lamprocarpa)

[CCC]

The sub-species Carex muricata ssp. pairae (which is not at all rare unlike the above) hybridizes with the also not rare sub-species of Grey Sedge (Carex divulsa ssp. divulsa) to produce a hybrid which first appeared in a garden in East Cork, Ireland in 1984 and was later found thrice in the wild in East Cork over the next few decades.
