Taxonomists have recently decided that the Birdsnest Family [Monotropaceae] should be subsumed into the Heather Family [Ericaceae], which, in the UK, means just the Monotropa Genus. Also, the Crowberry Family [Empetraceae] which contained the Genus Empetrum has been subsumed into this, the Heather Family. The Wintergreen [Pyrolaceae] Family containing the Genera Moneses, Pyrola and Orthilia has also been similarly subsumed into the Heather Family. Text on Family goes here
