Recent taxonomists do not recognise the Fumitory Family [Fumariaceae], and instead subsume it into this, the Pepper [Papaveraceae] Family. They do allow it, however, to be segregated from the Papaveraceae Family and grouped under the Order 'Ranunculales'. In this tome it will be placed with the Poppy Family for there is no mechanism for Sub-Families herein.

Recent taxonomists do not recognise the Fumitory Family [Fumariaceae], and instead subsume it into the Pepper [Papaveraceae] Family. They do allow it, however, to be segregated from the Papaveraceae Family and grouped under the Order 'Ranunculales'. Since there seems to be some disagreement between experts, it shall remain under the Fumitory Family here, at least until the taxonomists can come to some consensus.

Certain historical changes occurred to the Genera:

  • The Genus Roemeria ⇒ Genus Papaver
