Typical fluted and tapered appearance of the fungus in various hues of yellow.

The well exposed gills are forked near the extremities.


Lookee-Likees : The poisonous False Chanterelle mushroom !!

Distinguishing Feature : The yellowness of the mushroom and the trumpet shape with long obvious striations or gills. No relationship to : The poisonous False Chanterelle.

Grows in mainly deciduous woodland associated with oak, hazel or chestnut, or under coniferous trees.

A much sought-after edible mushroom.
