These are very obviously sown - on a road verge on a very windy day, they are all waving madly about.

This specimen has a very linearly-tapered corolla and 6 very narrow but long tepals about half-way along the corona. This corolla can be anywhere between 7 to 25mm long, quite a considerable range!

Whereas on this specimen the corolla straightens out near the end. The corolla is continuous but wavy-edged. The tepals are between 6 to 15mm long (up to 22mm on occasion), either linear or nearly so (as here).

Looking into the throat there are 6 curved orange T-bar anthers and a single concolourous yellow discoidal style.

Both corolla and tepals are concolorous and yellow, although the tepals may have tinges of green as well.

The leaves - behaving badly in the strong wind.

Some similarities to : many other daffodils but Hoop-petticoat Daffodil is very distinctive in its characteristics and shape.

Some resemblance to : Tenby Daffodil (Narcissus obvallaris) [formerly Narcissus pseudonarcissus ssp. obvallaris] - but that has a corolla which abruptly splayes-out at the end and which moreover is double-toothed - and to Cyclamen-flowered Daffodil (Narcissus cyclamineus) which has a much longer corolla in relation to its width and long, narrow tepals which are directed backwards. It is called Cyclamen-flowered Daffodil because, like Cyclamen, the flower is directed directly downwards (and the sepals directly upwards)!
