Some similarities to : Hedgehog Fir and Algerian Fir which have leaves radiating around all sides of their shoots.

The major identifying feature is the flaking brown bark, but upward curving needles which have but one point at the end are other features that help to pin it down.

Flaky Fir is actually extremely rare in Britain; there's only perhaps ten in the whole country (or less, if some have died since about 20 years ago!), all in specialist collections.
