Confined to the corries in Glen Derry and to the east side of Cairngorm in the central Cairngorms where it is found in a few very small colonies.

The Victorian Hieracium specialists surprisingly missed this hawkweed and it remained undetected until 1978 when it was discovered by David Tennant. This image was taken at 810 meters in Glen Derry during 2008.
